Biosphere Experiences for TRAVEL TRADE
Biosphere Experiences – Connect with Nature
Our Biosphere Guided Experiences are a unique offer, created in collaboration with local businesses and tour guides that support the ethos of our UNESCO Biosphere.
Our aim is to create Sustainable Tourism experiences where profits are re-invested into supporting our Biosphere Charities ongoing work in communities, conservation, education, and climate action.
Our selected providers give your clients the opportunity to meet local people, those who live and work in this region, who are passionate about Biosphere life, and who want to share their knowledge of our culture, nature and heritage.
From a tea drinking experience in ancient woodlands, to storytelling in the Galloway Dark Sky Park, Biosphere experiences allow guests to discover southwest Scotland’s world class locations, create unforgettable memories, and return home feeling happy and enriched.
We can help you plan immersive experiences in the Biosphere with our curated guided experiences for your customers.

The Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Partnership is a registered Scottish Charity (SC044137) supporting conservation, learning, climate resilience and sustainable development in SW Scotland. The partnership works right across the UNESCO Biosphere region, more than 9,700km² that encompasses wild land and rolling hills, meandering rivers and peaceful lochs, a rugged coast and pristine sandy beaches. This is a place of contrasting landscapes, where everyone can find their place.
Biosphere Enterprises is the GSA Biosphere Partnership’s trading arm, a social enterprise which has created unique Biosphere Guided Experiences for the travel trade. All profits are reinvested in the Biosphere region through local projects and initiatives delivered by the GSA Biosphere Partnership.
Biosphere businesses are creative, passionate, and active in promoting our rural heritage. They can’t wait to share the richness of our history, the potential for adventure, the diversity of our culture, and the deliciousness of local food!
National Geographic Traveller (UK) named the Galloway & Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere as the only Scottish destination in its prestigious global Cool List for 2024
The GSA Biosphere Partnership is fostering sustainable tourism in multiple ways, including providing Biosphere Guide Training, the only such course in Scotland. This allows us to connect the global travel trade with small businesses, independent guides and activity providers, and to offer visitors an experience like no other.
